Eminence Family Fun Day
May 2008
Proving a strong knit community is very much alive at Villawood's Doreen estate, 'Promenade', developer Villawood Properties hosted a day of 'Jazz among the wetlands' on Sunday 4 May, for its residents and local families. Approximately 150 people including residents and their friends and families came out to join in on the family fun at the newly completed estate.
Kids were entertained with a jumping castle, animal farm, trackless train and a face painter while adults relaxed and enjoyed the barbeque hosted by the local Doreen CFA and entertainment at the project's 'Wetland Park' with the soothing sounds of the Ron Romero Trio Jazz band.
Joining in from his wetland habitat, Villawood's 'Positive Change Platypus' came out to spread the word on how to curb our own carbon footprints.
Villawood Properties Senior Development Manager, Phil Hanna, said he was excited to see the Promenade residents come together and celebrate together further enhancing established friendships while also getting to know other neighbours within the community.
“There was a great atmosphere at Wetlands Park, with everyone enjoying the family activities and jazz afternoon, it was clear many of our residents already know each other and weren’t afraid to make new friends as well.
"These kind of events are a great opportunity for residents to get together and better forge friendships with their neighbors and their children."
"The 'Positive Change Platypus' was certainly a hit among the kids. They were running up to him from all angles getting in hugs and posing for photos," Mr Hanna said.
