The Villawood Difference - Community Events

A major component of bringing our residents together to build lasting friendships are our community events.

Open days, family fun days, community days and more feature regularly within our residential estates creating not only a great excuse to enjoy our well planned open space areas, Villawood events also provide the ideal opportunity to meet your fellow residents.

Providing fun activities for children and adults alike, many of our residents testify to the value of getting out of the home and meeting new friends and other families.

Marriott Waters Family Fun Day - June 2008

Family fun was had by all who attended our recent estate opening.

Guests were treated to a delicious barbeque cooked by the local Hampton Park CFA and served by the ladies of their Auxiliary, as well as freshly brewed coffee and hot drinks in the  arquee, families were able to warm up and enjoy listening to the soothing sounds of the jazz trio.

The children had a fantastic time on the jumping castle and playing with the animals in the animal farm, as well as having their faces painted and enjoying the fun antics of the  magician performing tricks and handing out balloon animals.

Eminence Family Fun Day - May 2008

Proving a strong knit community is very much alive at Villawood’s Doreen estate, ‘Promenade’, developer Villawood Properties hosted a day of ‘Jazz among the wetlands’ on Sunday 4 May, for its residents and local families. Approximately 150 people including residents and their friends and families came out to join in on the family fun at the newly completed estate.

Kids were entertained with a jumping castle, animal farm, trackless train and a face painter while adults relaxed and enjoyed the barbeque hosted by the local Doreen CFA and entertainment at the project’s ‘Wetland Park’ with the soothing sounds of the Ron Romero Trio Jazz band.

Joining in from his wetland habitat, Villawood’s ‘Positive Change Platypus’ came out to spread the word on how to curb our own carbon footprints.

Villawood Properties Senior Development Manager, Phil Hanna, said he was excited to see the Promenade residents come together and celebrate together further enhancing established friendships while also getting to know other neighbours within the community.

“ There was a great atmosphere at Wetlands Park, with everyone enjoying the family activities and jazz afternoon, it was clear many of our residents already know each other and weren’t afraid to make new friends as well.

“ These kind of events are a great opportunity for residents to get together and better forge friendships with their neighbors and their children.

“ The ‘Positive Change Platypus’ was certainly a hit among the kids.  They were running up to him from all angles getting in hugs and posing for photos,” Mr Hanna said.
