A Forest 'Star' Biodiversity Offset

In a landmark move, as part of our forestSTAR program, Villawood Properties has donated 109 hectares of forested land to the Victorian Government for future conservation.

Officially accepted by Hon. Gavin Jennings Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Innovation during May this year, the donated land is located within the Greater Bendigo National Park and represents an additional biodiversity offset for Villawood’s Victorian residential communities.

One of the first donations of its kind, Minister Jennings said Villawood’s forestSTAR program demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to environmentally friendly development.

The land donation is a result of our forestSTAR initiative, whereby for every block of land purchased in a Villawood community, an equivalent portion of forested land is voluntarily donated back to Victoria’s State Forests.
